Grace’s Top 5: “Kegs. Of. Iced. Coffee.”
ladyfestphilly:
We’re so excited and we just can’t hide it: In their own words, Ladyfest organizers share the 5 things they’re looking forward to the most during the festival.
Organizer Grace Ambrose (Bands, Workshops, Budget and Press committees) is psyched about the following:
- The International Lady Punk Underground coming together in Philadelphia. I’m stoked to see friends from all over the country (and the world!) and to make tons of new ones.
- I can’t afford to buy a lot of weird amps and pedals, but sometimes all I want to do is make some noise. I’m looking forward to a total freak-out with a ton of other women* during Amps, Pedals & PAs: Demystifying Electronics. Bring earplugs.
- The best show I see every year is the Girls Rock Philly summer camp showcase. The Barracuda Club bands killed it at the benefit they organized for Ladyfest back in April and I can’t wait to see some other brand new GRP bands debut their songs onstage at Ladyfest.
- La Colombe is donating kegs of iced coffee, which will be given out for free during the festival. Kegs. Of. Iced. Coffee. I’m sure I won’t be sleeping very much that weekend but I’m also positive that I won’t have any trouble staying awake.
- Getting my hands on some Ladyfest STUFF. Can’t wait to hang a silkscreened version of the poster on my wall and jam the cassette in the dead of winter — future time travel back to a rad weekend via great tunes.
Now we want to hear from you — why are you so excited for Ladyfest?
